MSG – The Slow Poisoning Of America

MSG Hides Behind 25+ Names, Such As ‘Natural Flavoring … MSG Is Also In Your Favorite Coffee Shops And Drive-Ups

I wondered if there could be an actual chemical causing the massive obesity epidemic, so did a friend of mine, John Erb.

He was a research assistant at the University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada, and spent years working for the government.

He made an amazing discovery while going through scientific journals for a book he was writing called “The Slow Poisoning of America”.

In hundreds of studies around the world, scientists were creating obese mice and rats to use in diet or diabetes test studies. No strain of rat or mice is naturally obese, so the scientists have to create them. They make these morbidly obese creatures by injecting them with MSG when they are first born. The MSG triples the amount of insulin the pancreas creates; causing rats (and humans?) to become obese. They even have a title for the fat rodents they create: “MSG-Treated Rats”.

I was shocked too. I went to my kitchen, checking the cupboards and the fridge. MSG was in everything: The Campbell’s soups, the Hostess Doritos, the Lays flavored potato chips, Top Ramen, Betty Crocker Hamburger Helper, Heinz canned gravy, Swanson frozen prepared meals, Kraft salad dressings, especially the ‘healthy low fat’ ones.

The items that didn’t have MSG marked on the product label had something called ”Hydrolyzed Vegetable Protein”, which is just another name for Monosodium Glutamate. It was shocking to see just how many of the foods we feed our children everyday are filled with this stuff. They hide MSG under many different names in order to fool those who carefully read the ingredient list, so they don’t catch on. (Other names for MSG: ‘Accent’ – ‘Agino moto’ – ‘Natural Meet Tenderizer’, etc) But it didn’t stop there. When our family went out to eat, we started asking at the restaurants what menu items had MSG.

Many employees, even the managers, swore they didn’t use MSG. But when we ask for the ingredient list, which they grudgingly provided, sure enough MSG and Hydrolyzed Vegetable Protein were everywhere:

  • Burger King
  • McDonalds
  • Wendy’s
  • Taco Bell

And every restaurant like: TGIF, Chili’s, Applebee’s and Denny’s use MSG in abundance.

Kentucky Fried Chicken seemed to be the WORST offender: MSG was in EVERY chicken dish, salad dressing and gravy. No wonder I loved to eat that coating on the skin, their secret spice was MSG.

So, why is MSG in so many of the foods we eat?

Is it a preservative or a vitamin?? Not according to my friend John. In the book he wrote, an expose of the food additive industry called “The Slow Poisoning of America” he said that MSG is added to food for the addictive effect it has on the human body. http://www.spofamerica.com (This website is still there but does not seem to be up to date.).

Even the propaganda website sponsored by the food manufacturers lobby group supporting MSG at: http://www.msgfactscom/facts/msgfact12.html (out of date website) explains that the reason they add it to food is to make people EAT MORE OF THEIR PRODUCTS.

A study of the elderly showed that people eat more of the foods it is added to. The Glutamate Association lobby group says eating more benefits the elderly, but what does it do to the rest of us? ‘Betcha can’t eat just one’, takes on a whole new meaning where MSG is concerned! And we wonder why the nation is overweight?

The MSG manufacturers themselves admit that it addicts people to their products. It makes people choose their product over others, and makes people eat more of it than they would if MSG wasn’t added.

Not only is MSG scientifically proven to cause obesity, it is an addictive substance! Since its introduction into the American food supply fifty years ago, MSG has been added in larger and larger doses to the pre-packaged meals, soups, snacks and fast foods we are tempted to eat everyday. The FDA has set no limits on how much of it can be added to food. They claim it’s safe to eat in any amount. How can they claim it safe when there are hundreds of scientific studies with titles like these?

‘The monosodium glutamate (MSG) obese rat as a model for the study of exercise in obesity’. GobattoCA, Mello MA, Souza CT, Ribeiro IA.Res Commun Mol Pathol Pharmacol. 2002.

‘Adrenalectomy abolishes the food-induced hypothalamic serotonin release in both normal and monosodium glutamate-obese rats’. Guimaraes RB, Telles MM, Coelho VB, Mori C, Nascimento CM, Ribeiro Brain Res Bull. 2002 Aug.

‘Obesity induced by neonatal monosodium glutamate treatment in spontaneously hypertensive rats: an animal model of multiple risk factors’. Iwase M, Yamamoto M, Iino K, IchikawaK, Shino hara N, Yoshinari Fujishima Hypertens Res. 1998 Mar.

‘Hypothalamic lesion induced by injection of monosodium glutamate in suckling period and subsequent development of obesity’. Tanaka K, Shimada M, Nakao K, Kusunoki Exp Neurol. 1978 Oct.

Yes, that last study was not a typo, it WAS written in 1978. Both the “medical research community” and “food manufacturers” have known about MSG’s side effects for decades! Many more studies mentioned in John Erb’s book link MSG to Diabetes, Migraines and headaches, Autism, ADHD and even Alzheimer’s. But what can we do to stop the food manufactures from dumping fattening and addictive MSG into our food supply and causing the obesity epidemic we now see?

History of Legislation on this Issue

“Even as you read this, G. W. Bush and his corporate supporters are pushing a Bill through Congress called the “Personal Responsibility in Food Consumption Act” also known as the “Cheeseburger Bill”, this sweeping law bans anyone from suing food manufacturers, sellers and distributors. Even if it comes out that they purposely added an addictive chemical to their foods. Read about it for yourself at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Personal_Responsibility_in_Food_Consumption_Act . The Bill has already been rushed through the House of Representatives, and is due for the same rubber stamp at Senate level. It is important that Bush and his corporate supporters get it through before the media lets everyone know about ‘MSG, the intentional Nicotine for food’.”

“Several months ago, John Erb took his book and his concerns to one of the highest government health officials in Canada. While sitting in the Government office, the official told him “Sure, I know how bad MSG is, I wouldn’t touch the stuff.” But this top level government official refused to tell the public what he knew.”

“The big media doesn’t want to tell the public either, fearing legal issues with their advertisers. It seems that the fallout on fast food industry may hurt their profit margin. The food producers and restaurants have been addicting us to their products for years, and now we are paying the price for it. Our children should not be cursed with obesity caused by an addictive food additive. But what can I do about it?… I’m just one voice.”

“What can I do to stop the poisoning of our children, while our governments are insuring financial protection for the industry that is poisoning us.”

“This e-mail is going out to everyone I know in an attempt to tell you the truth that the corporate owned politicians and media won’t tell you . The best way you can help to save yourself and your children from this drug-induced epidemic, is to forward this email to everyone. With any luck, it will circle the globe before politicians can pass the legislation protecting those who are poisoning us. The food industry learned a lot from the tobacco industry. Imagine if big tobacco had a bill like this in place before someone blew the whistle on Nicotine?”

“If you are one of the few who can still believe that MSG is good for us, and you don’t believe what John Erb has to say, see for yourself. Go to the National Library of Medicine, at http://www.pubmed.com. Type in the words “MSG Obese” and read a few of the 115 medical studies that appear.”

“We the public, do not want to be rats in one giant experiment and we do not approve of food that makes us into a nation of obese, lethargic, addicted sheep, feeding the food industry’s bottom line, while waiting for the heart transplant, diabetic induced amputation, blindness or other obesity induced, life threatening disorders. With your help we can put an end to this poison. Do your part in sending this message out by word of mouth, e-mail or by distribution of this print-out to all your friends all over the world and stop this ‘Slow Poisoning of Mankind’ by the packaged food industry.”

“Blowing the whistle on MSG is our responsibility, get the word out.”

NOTE: THIS BILL DID NOT PASS IN THE US CONGRESS , thank goodness – and thanks to the public for being vigilant and alert! We consider the health information about MSG in this letter so significant that it should be known by everyone, and we are passing it along to you again now. And it doesn’t hurt to know the history of legislation attempts either.
For your info it was known as H.R. 554: Personal Responsibility in Food Consumption Act of 2005, and its purpose was stated as:

To prevent legislative and regulatory functions from being usurped by civil liability actions brought or continued against food manufacturers, marketers, distributors, advertisers, sellers, and trade associations for claims of injury relating to a person’s weight gain, obesity, or any health condition associated with weight gain or obesity.
[Did you see the movie "SuperSize Me"?]

So this did not make it into federal law. But Wikipedia says many state legislatures are considering or have passed their own versions of the bill. You check your state laws to see if your state has implemented it.

You can still get the word out about MSG.
Awareness of, avoiding and rejecting foods served and sold with MSG is really our best recourse.
For the sake of your family and friends, for your children’s health and yours, pass this message on again to educate others.

Tyranny, Inc.

We have allowed our nation to be overrun by corporate interests. Once, we fought for our independence from Great Britain, freeing ourselves from the tyranny of the King who wished to impose total control over the original 13 colonies. But today, how will we free ourselves from the tyranny of the corporations?

These corporations have taken over government, regulatory bodies and the media. Corporations have become the power monopolists in this nation and now pose a threat of tyranny far more dangerous than any king or dictator. Not only are the people virtually powerless to stand up against the tyranny of corporations, but the very channel through which the people were supposed to be kept informed about such threats — the mainstream media — has actually become a supporter of tyranny itself. It is now part of the problem.

This is why I continue to stick with my prediction that the United States of America will fail within one generation. It is a nation with unprecedented global debt (and China just recently threatened to collapse the U.S. dollar by selling off some of their U.S. Treasury debt), an international reputation in ruins, a dysfunctional national press, a national health care system that actually promotes disease and cures no one, a mentally impaired President, a broken public education system, an irreversible addiction to oil, a drugged-up population of voters and a deeply-ingrained habit of spending itself into financial oblivion. Anyone who thinks this system is sustainable is kidding themselves. And, likewise, anyone who thinks having Hilary Clinton as the next president is going to solve all these problems is also living out some sort of fantasy delusion. These problems cannot be solved by politicians; they can only be solved by revolutionaries.

The press, for its part, is increasingly irrelevant to reality. That’s why all the smart people now get their information online. They read intelligent blogs, commentary sites and independent news articles. They realize the newsstand magazines are tabloid rags, the cable news shows are mindless entertainment for the masses, and the newspapers largely just reprint whatever fictional “news” stories get faxed to them by some important-sounding group such as the American Whatever Association. Intelligent consumers have long since realized that popular information sources simply cannot be trusted and that anyone wishing to be truly informed about what’s coming in the years ahead must make an effort to seek out information from the few independent, non-corporate-controlled information sources that exist only on the ‘net.

The internet is the last bastion of freedom in modern society, and that’s exactly why you will continue to see it attacked in the years ahead. They’ve already attacked sunlight, herbs and nutrition. You can fully expect the internet to be increasingly attacked and discredited by the mainstream media, which continues to lose readers and viewers by the day. It is only the internet that offers any real hope of reform or revolution in the years ahead. Intelligent people saved this country once already (from Great Britain), and I believe it is possible they may do so once again, but certainly not if they’re all doped up on antidepressant drugs.

Finally, I have to wonder, what good is a free press if it’s a false press? Our forefathers (and mothers) fought hard to create a nation with protections for the freedom of the press, and yet now the press has become the oppressor. There is no freedom in ignorance.

Turning truth upside down

Of course, the idea that antioxidants are useless for preventing disease is as absurd as thinking the Earth is the center of the universe, or that pigs can fly. Yet this is the position being promoted by the press today in blatant abandonment of all rational thought. To state that vitamins don’t work on women who don’t take them is classic doublespeak ripped right out of the pages of the novel 1984. You might as well say that pharmaceuticals don’t work on people who don’t take them, either.

I wonder why they even bothered to give antioxidants to the participating women at all. If you’re going to count the results of all the women who don’t take the supplements, why not simply launch the study, give vitamins to no one, then announce the conclusion that vitamins don’t work? This could create a whole new way to conduct clinical research: Track the health results in people who have taken nothing! Think of what we could accomplish in medical science by following this model — we could test thousands of different substances by simply giving them to no one, then declaring whatever results we wish to notice!

Ultimately, that’s what’s going on here anyway. Researchers are simply declaring whatever they want with no real regard to scientific truth or common sense. Much of medical science today has become a self-reinforcing exercise in pro-pharma dogma. Listening to drug-company funded researchers talk about nutritional science is a lot like listening to President Bush talk about peace: There is simply no connection with reality.

There is no health announcement too absurd for the mainstream media to print. If the American Medical Association declared water to be harmful to human health, the media would run the story without asking a single question. If the FDA declared all vitamins to be toxic and announced a nationwide ban on all dietary supplements, the mainstream media would fall right into step, parroting whatever scientific half-truths the FDA was spouting at that particular moment. If the American Cancer Society declared that sunlight caused cancer and that the citizens should avoid sunlight and cover their skin with toxic chemical creams to block out the sun, the press would gladly run with that story, too. Come to think of it, they already have: That’s the story on sunscreen, and just about everything you read in the mainstream media about sunlight and sunscreen is blatantly false.

There are so many falsehoods routinely printed in the mainstream media these days that it has become a rarity to find any piece of truth. From fudged war casualty numbers to details about health care in America today, the media has proven itself incapable of printing anything resembling factual truth. Instead, it has become a pro-war, pro-corporation, pro-disease, pro-market, profit-minded mouthpiece for the corrupt elite who now run this country.

Did you see the meltdown they prevented today????

The gold and silver used to back money isn’t in existence. Banks do not hold the paper funds to cover deposits due to loans against these deposits and are required by the government to retain in their supply only a fraction of a percent of the original deposit. The government produces money in excessive amounts driving up inflation. They sell us bonds with a promise to repay with interest and by the time we cash them in their values vs. inflation are less than what we started with. Futures contracts do the same as the banks and government, they sell us what they don’t have, and don’t deliver when they’re required to. On top of all this the government has put limits on how much gold and silver we may own and buy, taxed it as a commodity, and not allowed us to use it as a legal tender.

Major Frauds of the U.S. Monetary System

Feb 24, 2004

(revised) May 29,2007

Fraud #1. Paper Money. Originally, a paper dollar was a paper promise, a contract, to pay in gold or silver. The issuers of dollars have defaulted on that promise numerous times in recent history, at a rate of about once per generation. The issuers of paper money defaulted on domestic gold redemption in 1934, defaulted on silver redemption in 1968, and defaulted on international gold redemption in 1971. Those who issue U.S. paper money (Federal Reserve Notes) are in default. The creation of paper money is fraud, and was used to steal away gold and silver from the hands of the people.

Fraud #1 (A). Unchecked Borrowing and Printing of more Paper Money. All paper money is borrowed into existence, and that does not make the excessive creation of paper money right. This fraud is an additional theft upon all people who are already deceived by holding onto the fraudulent dollars, instead of gold and silver. The total amount of money in the U.S. banking system is known as M3, and is almost $9 Trillion as of Jan., 2004. http://www.nowandfutures.com/key_stats.html

Fraud #2. The Debt of the U.S. Federal Government. Originally, this debt was incurred to a large degree to fight and win World War II, as the debt soared from under $50 billion to over $250 billion by the war’s end. This was fraud, however, because at the time, the U.S. was on a gold standard at $35/oz., and the U.S. never borrowed $250 billion worth of gold in the first place, we only borrowed paper money that was created to excess. The debt is primarily used as a means to hide the fact of the excessive creation of paper money. By the end of Feb, 2004, the debt can be rounded up to $7.1 Trillion, and is as fraudulent today as it ever was. See www.treasurydirect.gov/NP/BPDLogin?application=np

Fraud #3. Fractional Reserve Banking. Banks don’t even have the fraudulent paper money they say you have in your account. They say you have “on demand” deposits, but they loan deposits out long term, which is fraud, because you cannot demand your deposits when you want. You have to order cash in advance, which your bank will have to order from the Fed, if you take out more than a few thousand dollars, and sometimes they will not even provide such a “service” of giving you your money, but will only give you a cashier’s check.

What are the fractional reserve requirements? In June of 2001, it was $37 billion for the entire U.S. banking system. See www.federalreserve.gov/releases/h3/Current/

In June of 2001, M3 was $7605 billion. See http://www.nowandfutures.com/key_stats.html

Therefore, in total, the reserve requirement was 37/7605, or .49%, or less than half of 1%.

The reason why it is so low is that for the first $8.5 million of deposits at a depository (your local branch) the reserve requirement is zero. Then, for the next $8.5 million to $45.8 million, the amount is 3%. Then, for amounts larger than $45.8 million, it is 10%. See www.federalreserve.gov/monetarypolicy/reservereq.htm

Therefore, since the vast majority of deposits are small ones, the effective reserve requirement is close to zero, or that 1/3 of 1%.

Fractional reserve banking is fraud, because those reserves cannot simultaneously be used to pay out to depositors and be used to back up the rest of the deposits at the same time. If more than 1/3 of 1% of people took their money out of the banking system, the system would collapse, unless the banks were willing to go to the Federal Reserve (the lender of last resort) and borrow more paper money.

The system works fine in theory, but works only for paper money. (And in practice, it has only worked for less than 20 years.) But there is no “lender of last resort” for real gold and silver.

Fraud #3 (A). The FDIC, or Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. www.fdic.gov/ The FDIC, in theory, insures accounts up to $100,000. As inflation continues, the value of this number grows smaller every year. In theory, this insurance is in place in case the bank is insolvent and fails due to a bank run, and insufficient fractional reserve requirements. In practice, it is there to back up banks that fail that the Federal Reserve refuses to bail out. In practice, sometimes depositors have to wait months to be paid this insurance money. In practice, the FDIC does not have the money to back up the accounts, either, which is fraud.

You would need this insurance the most if there was runaway inflation. If there was runaway inflation and a million dollars became nearly worthless, then the effective insurance amount of the FDIC would be close to zero.

In my view, insurance itself is collectivism, and fraud. Why should one depositor in New England who makes a deposit in a small town bank have to pay for the lack of fiscal responsibility of an entirely different bank, in an entirely different company, in an entirely different state such as New Mexico, and ultimately pay to protect those depositors in New Mexico? This transference of responsibility, through the FDIC, is fraud and a crime.

Fraud #4. Central bank gold-leasing. This is the fraud that GATA has been working to expose. The central banks own gold in two forms, real gold in their vaults, and paper promises. They report it all as if it were one category, which is fraud. The official estimates are that 30,000+ tonnes of “gold” are held by the central banks, and of that, 5000 tonnes have been leased out. The GATA research, by three different methods by three different people, shows that the amount leased out is closer to 15,000 tonnes. To say they have gold, when they do not have gold because it has been leased out, is fraud. To lease out the people’s gold (that ostensibly backs up the people’s currency) without the people’s knowledge or consent, is fraud.

U.S. gold is stated to be 261.5 million ounces. See www.fms.treas.gov/gold/index.html (x 32152 oz/tonne, it’s also 8133 tonnes.) The U.S. gold has not been audited by any independent third party since the 1960′s.

Even if the U.S. government really still has all this gold, and even if they pledged it against all deposits in the U.S. via the FDIC and backed the full $11.5 Trillion of money in the banks, M3, (and it is purely a fantasy that they would be so honorable) there would be only one ounce of gold for every $44,061. (That’s 11,500,000 million (a trillion is a million million) dollars / 261 million oz.)

Fraud #5. Bonds. Bonds are a paper promise to pay more fraudulent paper promises. It is fraud upon fraud. In theory, a bondholder will always receive more paper money than they lent out when they bought the bond in the first place. In practice, that does not matter if inflation rises faster than the rate of return, in which case the bondholder loses value. What does it matter to be paid more money, if the money is worth much less? Or, if bond interest rates rise as inflation increases happen, then the current re-sale value of the bond drops tremendously.

Fraud #5. (A). Inflation indexed bonds. These bonds promise to pay out a variable rate of return, indexed, or matched to the inflation rate. This is fraud upon fraud because they lie about the inflation rate, saying it is lower than it really is. Currently, the government is claiming that the inflation rate is about 1%. In reality, by mid 2003, the inflation rate was closer to 6%. Since mid 2003, many commodities are were up about 20% or more, and by the end of 2003, we were experiencing an annualized inflation rate of 40% in the U.S.! Furthermore, the dollar continues to drop against other currencies, and is down to 85 from a high of about 130, which is a drop of about 35%! Furthermore, what use is it to be paid out in more and more paper money, if the ultimate value of paper money will return to its intrinsic value, which is zero? Also, inflation indexed bonds will help to cause the very inflation that is feared. As more and more money will be needed to pay off the bonds, inflation will be forced to increase more and more!

Therefore, if you own inflation-indexed bonds that are paying you anything less than about 50% per year, then I suppose you have been deceived by this fraud, too.

$33 Trillion, U.S.: The value of the World bond market yr end, ’01: http://tinyurl.com/vr7u
$20.2 Trillion, U.S.: The value of the U.S. bond market, yr end, ’02

Bonds are used to steal away gold and silver still in the hands of the people who would not be deceived through paper money alone, and who are tempted through the lure of the crime of usury, or receiving an interest rate. If all the U.S. bonds, and M3, were both backed by the U.S. gold hoard, it would mean that there are about $30,000,000 million (a trillion is a million million) / 261 million = $115,000/ per oz. of gold.

Fraud #6. Paper futures contracts, and derivatives, especially when created to excess. The dollar is a derivative, and a paper contract, but that’s not the only one. There are also contracts at the COMEX, and on the “over the counter” (OTC) market to deliver gold and silver. At the COMEX, in silver, we regularly see over 100,000 contracts for 5000 ounces, or 500 million ounces. To see how many contracts there are for 5000 ounces, see www.nymex.com/jsp/markets/sil_fut_csf.jsp?

But they have only 48 million ounces of silver in the registered category, ready for delivery. To see how much silver they have now, see www.nymex.com/jsp/markets/sil_fut_wareho.jsp

The value of 48 million oz. of silver, at $13/oz. = $624 million.

The frauds here are similar to the fraud of the dollar and the fraud of fractional reserve banking, all in one. They have made too many futures contracts to deliver gold and silver, just as they have printed up too many dollars. And they only have a small portion of real gold and silver to back up their promises to deliver.

If bondholders ($20 trillion) and bank account holders ($10 trillion) ever think to prefer the safety of owning physical silver again, they should know that buying silver is a “first come first served” process. They should know that there is $30,000,000 million (a trillion is a million million) dollars available for the 48 million oz. of silver available in the market, or $625,000/oz.

Fraud #6 (A). Options. As if paper futures contracts were not enough to deceive people through the “magic” and “promise” of leverage, they have options on paper futures contracts, where a person puts down even less money to “control” the silver and “profit” from its price rise. (It’s as if the lure of 100,000 fold gains are simply enough for these greedy and deceived people.)

Fraud #7. Position limits on longs. At the COMEX, there are limits upon how much one person or entity can buy. I believe it is a false idea that longs can manipulate the market. It is impossible for longs to manipulate a free market! In a free market, everyone is free to buy and own whatever they wish, and own however much silver they wish. Restrictions on longs or restrictions on ownership is nothing less than communism, theft, and fraud! What good is money if you cannot spend it on whatever you wish? If you cannot buy what you wish, your money is no good! In other words, the entire U.S. monetary system is no good, it’s fraudulent from top to bottom.

For example, position limits were reduced for buyers of copper futures in the spot month, from 5000 contracts to 3000 contracts on December 22, 2003.
Fraud #8. Delivery delays for COMEX silver (also known as defaults). A default occurs when there was fraud. It is also known as bankruptcy, or a failure to deliver upon an obligation or promise. If a bank cannot honor on-demand deposits, then the bank is insolvent, or bankrupt. Similarly, if someone promises to deliver silver by a certain date, and is unable to do so, they are bankrupt, and in default, and have committed fraud. Since there have already been delivery delays of silver, then the long awaited default at the COMEX has already occurred. This is probably the best explanation for why the price of silver is moving up at this time.

The last major silver defaults were the failure to pay out silver when silver certificates (dollars) were presented for delivery, way back in 1968.

Frauds numbered 6-8 are the frauds that Ted Butler has been working to expose.

Fraud #9. Banking hold times. Why are there such long hold times on checks when you make a deposit in your bank, and hold times on wire transfers? They say it is for my protection, but I think it’s for the bank’s protection, or profit! A wire transfer can take up to a week. Depositing a check can take from a week to 3-4 weeks before they let you withdraw your money! Outrageous! As bulky and as heavy as silver bullion is, it is quicker and easier to ship silver bullion than to deal with the so-called “convenience” of U.S. paper dollars in the banking system.

Fraud #10. Legal tender laws. To add insult to injury, legal tender laws are laws that treat these frauds as if they were the corner stone of “The American Way”. They force people to accept the fraud, in place of real money, gold and silver. And they prevent people from making and contracting for gold and silver, even though the big banks are somehow exempt, and can contract in gold and silver all they want through the “over the counter” derivatives market.

The fraud of legal tender laws is the fraud that www.fame.org/#Strategy has been working to expose.

Fraud #11. Tax on gold and silver purchases. In the U.S., some states collect a sales tax on the purchase of gold and silver coin. It usually ranges from about 5-8%. In some states, such as California, it is only applicable on transactions for less than $1000. In Europe, they have what is called a VAT, or “value added tax”. It’s also fraud. There can be no tax on a money exchange. When you get two $5 bills for a $10 bill, do you pay tax? Of course not. When you convert money from the Canadian dollar to the U.S. dollar is there a tax? Of course not. Therefore, there should be no tax on other money exchanges.

The fraud of the tax on bullion is a fraud that Franklin Sanders has been working to expose.

Fraud #12, The Income Tax. Prior to 1913 when the Federal Reserve was founded, there never was an income tax, and America got along just fine without it for hundreds of years. Between 1913 and 1945, the income tax was paid only by the extremely wealthy, and it started out as only a tiny percentage of income. The income tax did not become widespread and was not paid by the average person until after World War II, and it was supposed to be “temporary”. We’ve been paying this temporary tax ever since, and with no end in sight. The income tax is fraudulent because it is and unconstitutional on many grounds, but the judges of the nation rule as if they do not care.

Fraud #13, The Social Security Number (SSN). Started by FDR in the depression, the original cards are printed with the phrase, “not to be used for identification purposes.” Now, due to the Patriot Act, you cannot get a bank account without one. The social security system is a fraudulent ponzi scheme. It is collectivism. Fortunately, I don’t use a SSN, which is a protection from most of the frauds of the entire system.

Conclusions: Fraud is not the American Way. Unfortunately, it is the way of life today — that we all must face. Anyone who uses paper money is guilty of allowing these frauds to continue. Anyone who saves in terms of paper money in the banks is guilty of allowing themselves to be deceived by these multiple frauds.

It is wrong to participate in, or by deceived by fraud, just because many other people also participate. Stop participating in fraud, and stop allowing yourself to be deceived by fraud.

Which of the above frauds do you think is the greatest fraud of the monetary system in the U.S. today? One of the above, or one I may have left out?

The beauty of the internet is that it is helping knowledge to increase, and it is a form of communication that those who commit these crimes of monetary fraud upon us cannot control. Please make the most of it, and please forward this on to others.

The Bush administration has approved a plan to expand domestic access to some of the most powerful tools of 21st-century spycraft, giving law enforcement officials and others the ability to view data obtained from satellite and aircraft sensors that can see through cloud cover and even penetrate buildings and underground bunkers.

A program approved by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence and the Department of Homeland Security will allow broader domestic use of secret overhead imagery beginning as early as this fall, with the expectation that state and local law enforcement officials will eventually be able to tap into technology once largely restricted to foreign surveillance.

Administration officials say the program will give domestic security and emergency preparedness agencies new capabilities in dealing with a range of threats, from illegal immigration and terrorism to hurricanes and forest fires. But the program, described yesterday by the Wall Street Journal, quickly provoked opposition from civil liberties advocates, who said the government is crossing a well-established line against the use of military assets in domestic law enforcement.

Although the federal government has long permitted the use of spy-satellite imagery for certain scientific functions — such as creating topographic maps or monitoring volcanic activity — the administration’s decision would provide domestic authorities with unprecedented access to high-resolution, real-time satellite photos.

They could also have access to much more. A statement issued yesterday by the Department of Homeland Security said that officials envision “more robust access” not only to imagery but also to “the collection, analysis and production skills and capabilities of the intelligence community.”

The beneficiaries may include “federal, state, local and tribal elements” involved in emergency preparedness and response or “enforcement of criminal and civil laws.” The “tribal” reference was to Native Americans who conduct semiautonomous law enforcement operations on reservations.

“These systems are already used to help us respond to crises,” Charles Allen, the chief intelligence officer for the Department of Homeland Security, said in a telephone interview. “We anticipate that we can also use it to protect Americans by preventing the entry of dangerous people and goods into the country, and by helping us examine critical infrastructure for vulnerabilities.”

Domestic security officials already have access to commercial satellite imagery, including the high-definition photographs available from Google and other private vendors. But spy satellites offer much greater resolution and provide images in real time, said Jeffrey T. Richelson, an expert on space-based surveillance and a senior fellow with the National Security Archive in Washington.

“You also can get more coverage more often,” Richelson said. “These satellites will cover during the course of their orbits the entire United States. They will be operating 24 hours a day and using infrared cameras at night.”

Other nonvisual capabilities can be provided by aircraft-based sensors, which include ground-penetrating radar and highly sensitive detectors that can sense electromagnetic activity, radioactivity or traces of chemicals, military experts said. Such radar can be used to find objects hidden in buildings or bunkers.

One possible use of the technology would be to spot staging areas along smuggling routes used to transport narcotics or illegal immigrants, officials said. In a handful of cases, security officials have requested — and obtained — similar help, but only on a case-by-case basis.

Allen said the agreement with the DNI grew out of the general impetus for wider intelligence-sharing in the aftermath of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, when administration and intelligence officials began examining the possibility of increasing officials’ access to secret data as a means of strengthening the nation’s defenses.

The program was formally authorized in May in a memo by Director of National Intelligence Mike McConnell to Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff. The two officials have been coordinating for months, as recommended in a 2005 study headed by Keith Hall, then the director of the National Reconnaissance Office.

Hall’s group cited an “urgent need” for expanding sharing of remote sensing data to domestic groups other than scientific researchers. “Opportunities to better protect the nation are being missed,” the report said.

Under the new program, the DHS will create a subordinate agency to be known as the National Applications Office. The new office, which has gained the backing of congressional intelligence and appropriations committees, is responsible for coordinating requests for access to intelligence by civilian agencies. Previously, an agency known as the Civilian Applications Committee facilitated access to satellite imagery for geologic study.

Oversight of the department’s use of the overhead imagery data would come from officials in the Department of Homeland Security and from the Office of the Director of National Intelligence and would consist of reviews by agency inspectors general, lawyers and privacy officers. “We can give total assurance” that Americans’ civil liberties will be protected, Allen said. “Americans shouldn’t have any concerns about it.”

But civil liberties groups quickly condemned the move, which Kate Martin, director of the Center for National Security Studies, a nonprofit activist group, likened to “Big Brother in the sky.” “They want to turn these enormous spy capabilities, built to be used against overseas enemies, onto Americans,” Martin said. “They are laying the bricks one at a time for a police state.”

Steven Aftergood, director of the Project on Government Secrecy for the Federation of American Scientists, said that the data could be useful but that oversight for the program was woefully inadequate. Enhanced access “shouldn’t be adopted at all costs because it comes with risk to privacy and to the integrity of our political institutions,” he said.

Antibiotics in Your Lettuce?

The routine feeding of antibiotics to livestock has released yet another thorn into the proverbial side of your food supply. Those antibiotics are being transferred, via manure, into the U.S. food supply.

University of Minnesota researchers, in a study funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, evaluated whether food crops accumulate antibiotics from soil covered with antibiotic-containing manure.

In a greenhouse setting, corn, lettuce and potatoes were grown on soil that contained hog manure with a commonly used veterinary antibiotic added.

The antibiotics were uptaken by all three crops, into both their leaves and tissue. Meanwhile, the antibiotics also transferred to the potato tubers, suggesting that root crops like carrots, radishes and potatoes may be particularly at risk of antibiotic accumulation.

Though the researchers said the effects of consuming plants that contain antibiotics are “largely unknown,” it’s thought that the contamination could cause allergic reactions or the development of antimicrobial resistance (which renders antibiotics ineffective).

The findings also have implications for organic farmers, who often use manure as their main source of fertilizer.

The fact that crops uptake antibiotics from the soil is disheartening, though not surprising.

When a food supply subsists on counterintuitive, artificial means — like feeding livestock antibiotics as a matter of course to prevent illness, instead of providing quality food and a decent environment to keep the animals healthy naturally — there is no end to the havoc that can ensue.

The end result is the “frankenfood” you see in most supermarkets that’s:

This time, however, eating organic is not the answer. Organic crops, which cannot be fertilized with synthetic fertilizers, are the ones most often fertilized with manure. As it stands, manure that contains antibiotics is still allowed under the organic label.

How can you ensure that the food you feed to yourself and your family is pure and healthy? Apart from growing it yourself, your best option is to get to know a local farmer near you — one who uses non-toxic farming methods. If you live in an urban area, there are increasing numbers of community-supported agriculture programs available that give you access to healthy, locally grown foods even if you live in the heart of the city.

Tips for Handling Telemarketers

Three Little Words That Work !!

(1)The three little words are: “Hold On, Please…”

Saying this, while putting down your phone and walking off (instead of hanging-up immediately) would make each telemarketing call so much more time-consuming that boiler room sales would grind to a halt.

Then when you eventually hear the phone company’s “beep-beep-beep” tone, you know it’s time to go back and hang up your handset, which has efficiently completed its task.

Thes e three little words will help eliminate telephone soliciting.

(2) Do you ever get those annoying phone calls with no one on the other end?

This is a telemarketing technique where a machine makes phone calls and records the time of day when a person answers the phone.

This technique is used to determine the best time of day for a “real” sales person to call back and get someone at home.

W hat you can do after answering, if you notice there is no one there, is to immediately start hitting your # button on the phone, 6 or 7 times, as quickly as possible This confuses the machine that dialed the call and it kicks your number out of their system. Gosh, what a shame not to have your name in their system any longer !!!

(3) Junk Mail Help:

When you get “ads” enclosed with your phone or utility bill, return these “ads” with your payment. Let the sending companies throw their own junk mail away.

When you get those “pre-approved” letters in the mail for everything from credit cards to 2nd mortgages and similar type junk, do not throw away the return envelope.

Most of these come with postage-paid return envelopes, right? It costs them more than the regular 41 cents postage “IF” and when they receive them back.

It costs them nothing if you throw them away! The postage was 39 cents before the last increase and it is according to the weight. In that case, why not get rid of some of your other junk mail and put it in these cool little, postage-paid return envelopes.

One of Andy Rooney’s (60 minutes) ideas.
Send an ad for your local chimney cleaner to American Express. Send a pizza coupon to Citibank. If you didn’t get anything else that day, then just send them their blank application back!
If you want to remain anonymous, just make sure your name isn’t on anything you send them.

You can even send the envelope back empty if you want to just to keep them guessing! It still costs them 41 cents.

The banks and credit card companies are currently getting a lot of their own junk back in the mail, but folks, we need to OVERWHELM them. Let’s let them know what it’s like to get lots of junk mail, and best of all they’re paying for it…Twice!

Let’s help keep our postal service busy since they are saying that e-mail is cutting into their business profits, and that’s why they need to increase postage costs again. You get the idea!

If enough people follow these tips, it will work —- I have been doing this for years, and I get very little junk mail anymore.

THIS JUST MIGHT BE ONE E-MAIL THAT YOU WILL WANT TO FORWARD TO YOUR FRIENDS!
